If you put the tube in and later try to install the pan you may find the pan will not fit. Slipped dipstick in using a little wd in the hole and then used the air chisel to slowly tap into place. You could probably do the same with a hammer and steel rod. I think I had to bore out the inside of the socket as well. I use a brake flaring tool clamp to resize the bumps a little. Simply thread them into the block where the oil pan bolts go, snap the oil pan gasket in place, followed by the pan itself, and start threading the bolts in.
